Organizations and individuals are joining together through FACTSnet.org to work, this summer, with Canadian and Ukrainian Young People ages 15-30.
Ukrainian Easter Sunday is on April 24th. Celebrate with Jeff Acker, the Mayor of Spruce Grove, either in person or online starting at 6 am to watch the Sunrise and pray for Ukraine on Hamburger Hill, an Easter Egg Hunt, Breakfast, Online, and in-person celebrations, messages, and messages from the Mayor. Go to Spruce Grove Celebrates Ukrainian Easter Sunday to learn more. Email factsumc@gmail.com to get more information updates and an invitation to participate.
Ukrainian Easter Celebrations include sending messages to each other. This was traditionally done by writing on Eggs. Go to Slide 3 in our Digital Egg Presentation to see Spruce Grove's Egg If you would like to participate in our Digital Ukrainian Easter Egg project and/or research Ukrainian Easter celebrations, especially how Spruce Grove can celebrate this year. Email factsumc@gmail.com.
As we celebrate Easter this year, we may be reminded of someone who is no longer with us. Click here to learn about a Memorial Bench that could help you remember your loved one as well as help a family Jewellery Store recover from a recent robbery.
Be a sponsor as follows:
Participating Sponsor: individual volunteers or Organisational Representatives You can help out with celebrations and/or Host a breakfast. See Spruce Grove Celebrates Ukrainian Easter Sunday
In-Kind Sponsor: for example, SaveOn Foods is donating chocolate eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt.
Financially support: a local organization that supports Ukrainians. For example, see Spruce Grove Alliance Church's link with Videos from Poland.
Email factsumc@gmail.com if you would like to be a sponsor.
Dealing With Traumatic Stress from the Ukrainian Crisis of 2022. Anyone can help by connecting with Ukrainian Young People and learning more about Mental Health and Trauma. Email factsumc@gmail.com to get involved.
Volunteer and Summer Job Opportunities, especially for Canadian and Ukrainian Young People. There are opportunities to explore your Career as you help others with their Careers. We are exploring ways to welcome and employ Ukrainian Young People and help them process the trauma they have experienced (see above). Any eligible Young Person, age 15-30, is encouraged to apply. We are particularly looking for people with Business, Computing, Education, Wellness, and Trilingual backgrounds (Ukrainian, French, English, we also accept people with English only or bilingual with English as one of the other languages). You may be over 30 or already have a summer job or have other plans but would like to volunteer to help out for an average of 10 hours a month for the summer. We need volunteers immediately to help contact Canadians and Ukrainians who have connections with Canada and to work on the Digital Egg Project. We encourage organisations to sponsor a FACTSnet 15-30 Representative. To apply, send your resume to factsumc@gmail.com. For more information go to FACTSnet.org and click on FACTSnet Careers, Volunteers, and Employment.
